Senior Power System Engineer – Energy & Utility Projects

About the role

K&A Engineering Consulting is seeking a senior Power System Engineer to support an MCC‑funded infrastructure project in Central America. You will apply deep expertise in power system operations, market design, and renewable integration to deliver high‑impact solutions for utility and industrial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement Security Constrained Economic Dispatch models.
• Perform AC Optimal Power Flow (AC‑OPF) studies and analyses.
• Design, configure, and maintain Energy Monitoring System (EMS) and SCADA platforms.
• Model and assess Dynamic Probabilistic Reserves (DPR) for system reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate renewable energy and battery storage systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in power system engineering, specifically in dispatch, OPF, EMS/SCADA, or reserves modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Power, or related engineering discipline.
• Proven track record delivering projects for utilities or large‑scale energy infrastructure.
