Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is looking for a highly qualified Non‑Key Expert to lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation (EO) services and applications based on Copernicus data. The role supports the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme, addressing key development, climate and environmental priorities across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and promote EO services and applications using Copernicus data and products.
• Support early‑warning, climate, environmental, agricultural, water and biodiversity initiatives.
• Facilitate knowledge exchange and capacity building with African institutions and stakeholders.
• Contribute to policy dialogue and private‑sector engagement within the Africa‑EU space ecosystem.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related field.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an asset.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in EO, geospatial services, remote sensing or climate/environmental services.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data in sectors such as early warning, climate, agriculture, water or biodiversity.
• Experience working with African institutions and promoting user uptake is a plus.
