Dewatering Specialist

About the role

The Dewatering Specialist will ensure safe and efficient dewatering operations at the Simandou Iron Ore Mine. Working on a 4‑weeks‑on/2‑weeks‑off FIFO roster, you will lead the planning, installation, operation and optimisation of dewatering systems to support pit development.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and weekly dewatering activities, including pumping, piping and mechanical works.
• Manage installation, relocation, commissioning and optimisation of dewatering systems.
• Lead, coach and supervise multidisciplinary teams and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Enforce safety standards, conduct pre‑start meetings and participate in HSE audits.
• Oversee contractor mobilisation, performance reviews and workforce discipline.
• Allocate resources, maintain equipment availability and meet dewatering targets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental and company requirements while providing accurate monitoring data.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or recognised training in mining, mechanical or a related discipline (desirable).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in dewatering or related mining operations.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work a FIFO roster (4 weeks on / 2 weeks off).
