Finishing Works Supervisor / Foreman

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced Finishing Works Supervisor / Foreman to oversee finishing activities on residential and interior fit-out projects in Guinea, West Africa. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in tile installation, drywall/gypsum works, painting and general finishing, and can supervise workers to deliver quality, productivity and timely completion.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily finishing works at the project site.
• Plan and allocate work to tile setters, drywall/gypsum installers, painters and other finishing workers.
• Monitor quality of tile, drywall, ceiling, painting and other finishing works, checking surface preparation, alignment, levels and workmanship.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Supervisors and other trades.
• Monitor daily manpower, productivity and progress, and report daily progress and issues to management.
• Resolve site-level finishing issues, ensure proper use of materials and tools, minimise waste and maintain good housekeeping.
• Ensure workers follow site safety procedures and lead the finishing team to meet the schedule.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finishing work.
• Previous experience as a Foreman, Finishing Supervisor, Charge-hand or similar.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and site instructions.
• Good knowledge of finishing materials, tools and construction methods.
• Strong team leadership, coordination and communication skills, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Willingness to relocate and work in Guinea, West Africa.
• Experience on residential buildings, villas, hotels, commercial buildings or interior fit-outs, supervising multiple finishing trades, is preferred.
