Project Manager - Construction

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage construction and interior fit-out projects in Guinea, West Africa. The role covers overall project planning, execution, coordination, quality, cost, schedule, manpower and client communication, so that projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on time. It is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and oversee construction and interior fit-out projects from start to completion.
• Develop project schedules, work plans and manpower requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Supervise Project Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress against approved schedules and budgets, and review drawings, BOQs, specifications and documentation.
• Coordinate civil, architectural, finishing, electrical, plumbing and other site activities.
• Monitor materials, procurement, deliveries and site resources; identify risks and delays and coordinate corrective actions.
• Ensure quality control, site inspections, safety requirements and site procedures are followed.
• Prepare progress reports and lead project meetings with stakeholders.
• Minimise wastage and delays, and ensure timely completion and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant construction or project management experience.
• Proven experience managing residential, commercial, building or interior fit-out projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades such as civil, finishing, electrical and plumbing works.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and technical documents.
• Willingness to relocate and work in Guinea, West Africa.
• Preferred: experience in large residential projects, villas, commercial buildings, hotels or interior fit-outs.
