MEP Engineers (Electrical & Plumbing) - Construction Projects in Guinea

About the role

Careers International is recruiting two full-time MEP engineers for construction and interior fit-out projects in Guinea, West Africa: one Electrical Engineer and one Plumbing Engineer. The successful candidates plan, coordinate, supervise, install, test and commission electrical or plumbing systems in line with project specifications, drawings, quality standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate MEP works at the project site
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents
• Coordinate MEP activities with civil, architectural and interior works
• Monitor contractors, technicians and site teams, and inspect materials, installations and workmanship
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, consultants and contractors, and monitor progress and report technical issues and delays
• Carry out inspections, testing and commissioning of completed systems and identify technical problems
• Maintain documentation, reports, inspection records and site progress updates

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (electrical engineer) or Mechanical/Plumbing/MEP Engineering (plumbing engineer)
• Strong site coordination, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills; ability to work with multicultural teams
• Attention to quality, safety and project timelines; willingness to relocate to Guinea
• GCC, African or international construction experience is an advantage

Required skills

• Electrical: building electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, wiring, panels, earthing, reading electrical drawings and schematics, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning
• Plumbing: water supply, drainage, sanitary systems, piping and pumps, reading plumbing/MEP drawings, installation, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning
