Mine Productivity Specialist

About the role

The Mine Productivity Specialist provides technical and analytical support to optimise mining operations, focusing on productivity, cost reduction and efficiency. Working on a FIFO roster, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance, planning and contractors to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse production data such as cycle times, delays, output and equipment usage.
• Identify performance trends and recommend optimisation strategies.
• Support short‑term mine planning and scheduling.
• Lead improvement initiatives using lean mining and operational excellence practices.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of production losses and downtime.
• Utilise mining software (MineStar, Modular, Deswick, Vulcan, Alastri) to monitor and improve performance.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools for real‑time performance tracking.
• Support digital transformation and automation projects.
• Ensure alignment between production plans and execution capability.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly performance reports to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualification or recognised training in Mining, Drilling or a related technical discipline.
• 8‑10 years of experience in open‑cut mine production operations.
• Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
