Retail Maintenance Engineer

About the role

As a Retail Maintenance Engineer you will supervise and manage retail equipment and site maintenance activities, ensuring efficient service for VEU and its retailers while staying within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage equipment maintenance contracts and ensure timely, quality maintenance with minimal operational interruption.
• Sign off contractor work and initiate payments.
• Create and manage the annual maintenance budget and plan scheduled works such as painting and minor repairs.
• Oversee quality control of local contractors, evaluating performance against KPIs.
• Capitalize completed installations, maintain the asset database, and handle asset movements.
• Conduct procurement in line with company contracting procedures.
• Deliver maintenance services that achieve high customer satisfaction scores.
• Support the Construction Engineer on capital expenditure and pump replacement projects from design to completion.
• Ensure HSSE compliance for contractors working at remote sites and maintain operational integrity of facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of retail construction, maintenance, procurement, and tendering processes.
• Familiarity with service station components and health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
• Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
• Strong computer literacy, communication and interpersonal skills.
