Country Representative, Guinea

About the role

The Country Representative will provide strategic leadership for Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in Guinea, guiding program and operations to serve the poor and vulnerable while safeguarding staff and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Champion CRS’s vision, mission and strategy, and design medium‑ and long‑term goals.
• Align program and operations objectives with the overall strategy and donor expectations.
• Ensure compliance with CRS quality standards and MEAL policies.
• Manage senior programming and operations staff, providing coaching, performance assessments and development plans.
• Oversee staffing plans and recruitment for large, complex projects.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with national and international stakeholders, including Church partners, governments and donors.
• Monitor security risks, enforce staff safety policies and update contingency plans.
• Promote efficient use of agency and donor resources and oversee monthly expenditure analysis.
• Lead strategic growth initiatives and foster a learning‑oriented environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Development, International Relations or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience managing complex relief and development programs.
• Proven track record handling high‑value projects funded by multiple international donors (USG, DFID, EU, Global Fund, UN).
• Experience building and strengthening partnerships; experience with Church partners is a plus.
