Material Specialist

About the role

The Material Specialist will manage the flow of material into the locomotive repair line at our subcontractor facility in Guinea, ensuring timely availability of parts for 24/7 operations. The role includes inventory management, procurement, and close collaboration with the materials planner and project team.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the technical execution team to fulfill material requests and communicate any issues.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials.
• Monitor performance of 3rd‑party logistics providers and conduct daily morning meetings to prioritize objectives.
• Perform picking, receiving, inspection, and accurate labeling of materials.
• Maintain organized stock areas, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensure a safe, 5S‑compliant warehouse environment.
• Operate a forklift and other material‑handling equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of warehouse experience.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution functions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Guinean national fluent in French and English; Mandarin is a plus.
