Technical Field Service and Advising Specialist

About the role

The Technical Advisor will provide Wabtec locomotive technical advice to subcontracted maintenance staff on the customer rail network in Guinea. The role operates on a FIFO schedule (60 days on, 15 days off) and includes accommodation and travel support.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure locomotive servicing is completed safely, on time and according to Maintenance Instructions (MIs).
• Provide troubleshooting advice, failure analysis and field‑modification oversight to maintenance personnel.
• Work with Reliability Engineers to improve locomotive performance KPIs and track material usage.
• Update the Maintenance Management System during shifts and forecast consumables.
• Coordinate implementation of field modifications and monitor their effectiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of customer‑facing locomotive service experience with Wabtec locomotives.
• L1 Locomotive Technical Training certification.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and ability to work varied shifts.
• Fluent in English, French or Mandarin.
