Materials Manager

About the role

The Materials Manager will oversee warehouse operations at the customer facility in Guinea, ensuring timely availability of materials for locomotive maintenance. The role supports 24/7 operations with two 12‑hour shifts and includes accommodation at the maintenance facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts based on project schedules, repair plans and historical data.
• Oversee inventory control, set reorder points, safety stock levels and conduct regular audits.
• Manage day‑to‑day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
• Facilitate material movement between Guinea and countries such as the USA, India and South Africa, handling customs clearance.
• Implement SOPs, ensure safety compliance and continuously improve supply‑chain efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in material planning, forecasting, inventory management and procurement within a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Guinean national fluent in French and English; Mandarin is a plus.
