Materials Manager – Guinea (Port of Morebaya)

About the role

The Materials Manager will lead warehouse and material operations for a locomotive maintenance facility located near the port of Morebaya, Guinea. Working 24/7 across two 12‑hour shifts, you will ensure that all parts and supplies are available on time to support maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material forecasts based on project schedules, repair plans and historical data.
• Oversee inventory control, set reorder points, safety stock levels and conduct regular audits and cycle counts.
• Manage day‑to‑day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
• Run MRP processes (e.g., Oracle) covering receipt, dispatch, NCR handling and related logistics.
• Coordinate international material movement and customs clearance with partners in the USA, India and South Africa.
• Implement and enforce SOPs, safety protocols and continuous improvement policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in material planning, forecasting, inventory management and procurement within a manufacturing, engineering or maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply‑chain principles, inventory optimisation and warehouse management.

Required skills

• Oracle (MRP) system proficiency.
